A supportive space for adults who engage in non-suicidal self injury (also known as “self-harm”) to share experiences, reduce risks of serious injury, and subvert cultural norms of shame and silence around self-harming behaviors.
This group will be guided by a harm-reduction philosophy that places human dignity, agency, and compassion at the forefront of the healing process.
In this group, we will examine common social and cultural misconceptions about NSSI, explore ways to increase safety and reduce risk, and hold space for the ways that self-harm can be supportive and helpful at times.
While we recognize allies’, partners’, and parents’ desires to support loved ones who engage in NSSI, this group is meant for those in our community who are currently engaging in or considering engaging in non-suicidal self-injury behaviors.
