Therapy seeks to address the patterns and unresolved material unique to each of us which hampers our ability to connect meaningfully with others and limits our capacity for joy. I work with couples and individuals looking to deepen their understanding of themselves and work collaboratively to cultivate curiosity, authenticity, honesty, self-compassion, and the ability to tolerate difficult feelings.
I use a combination of gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy, EMDR, and somatic interventions when working with individuals. My couple’s work is inspired by family systems theory and imago therapy. I believe relational conflict presents an opportunity to discover and create deeper empathy for one another, understanding, and better communication. Ultimately, the strife that brings couples into therapy can be the very thing that leads them to greater closeness and intimacy down the road.
I’ve had a lifelong interest in human behavior, psychology, and spirituality. Before working as a therapist, I studied and taught the Alexander Technique for over ten years. My experiences have given me a deep respect for the universality of our human struggle and the importance of having someone there to help us navigate difficult times, to see what we can’t see, and to support our individual growth in ways we don’t think are possible.
